Light weight but robust, countoured scales are very comfy. Knife blade shape is functional and has nice colour. Overall very good value for the price.
The latest in my series of Chaves purchases, they are only getting better, remarkably good ergo's for such a tanky boxy handle, love the clip point blade and finally a usable finger choil ... funny the bolt holes over the eyes on the skull clip never bothered me until the scapegoat arrived and didn't have them!
How could I resist? my daughters name is Allie so I was kinda obligated to buy a knife that was directly marketed to me! I said to Mitch was so happy its a good looking knife! Nice lightweight carry with a slicey blade, the whole thing is beautifully made and will stay in the collection as a definite keeper.
Very fun to play with, and the thumb studs absolutely fire the blade out, which locks with a very satisfying 'clunk'. I found both the thumb studs and the superlock quite aggressive comoared to most knives, and took a while for my soft city hands to get used to them (!) but all good now. Excellent and speedy service as always.
Who'd have thought a Tiny Ass Knife would be so small, it's totally impractical but it brings me joy and I have a maniacal cackle every time I deploy the blade. Every Single Time.
I bought this knife specifically to use as a work knife. It works well, and it takes regular Stanley blades.
The torx screw to change blades is a little inconvenient, but not too bad. I keep a torx screwdriver at work for that purpose.
It's excellent Civivi quality and workmanship. Recommended.
So it is a basic utility blade knife. But a lot nicer. Opens with a flipper. Closes with a button.
It needs a tool to change the blade. But you get the whole blade with no rattle and no danger of it coming out.
And the whole blade thing makes a surprising difference.
The Elementum Utility was a pleasant surprise. Civivi has tuned their button lock detent to have decent tension and snap with a very satisfying action. The smaller-than-standard size compared to the regular Elementum is also welcome. You get almost the full edge of the utility blade in this design I know some people wanted some type of quick-release blade mechanism, but the Torx screw is a lot more secure and rattle-free. How do they make it at this price ?
You see lots of rave reviews on Wiha Bits, so I bought the Wiha precision micro-bit driver set, was pretty unimpressed to see the janky plastic bit driver it came with. But enter the Knafs Driver and damn it feels solid, really inspires confidence and great to have the T6 and T8 magnetically attached for instant access. If you only want to buy one tool, this will be the one for 90% of your needs.
So it took me a while to get brave enough to start doing maintenance on my folders, I had one that just seemed "gritty" all the time and it had to be done.
People recommended Nano-Oil so I got some of that and it was better.
People recommended Gunny Glide, so I got some of the and it seemed the same.
People recommended KPL and I'm done, if there's a better product out there I don't believe you .. and I don't care .. KPL is all I buy from now on.
I took a mates knife apart and KPL'd it and handed it back, he gave me this look of disbelief and said "that feels better than when it was brand new"
So yeah, its the good oil.
A while ago I bought the Ace Grand ... loved it ... Thought to myself "the only way this could be better was if it was just a little smaller, had a flipper tab and a finger choil", well the people at GiantMouse must have read my mind because thats exactly what they gave me. Small enough to disappear in the pocket with a discreet wire clip and a slicey blade thats held its edge well.
Awesome little EDC, if you're on the fence go ahead and pull the trigger!
Super light to carry in a pocket, fidget friendly, and I never have to worry about sharpening it, and I just discovered Stanley make utility blades with a laser deposited carbide edge! What’s awesome is it’s longer than a traditional utility blade which is good for following a straight edge and is much stiffer than the other style of longer replaceable blades.
