Description

Jakeb Ginsberg is back after his standout collaboration with Jack Wolf Knives on the Collusion, and the Field Mouse is an absolute banger. This compact fixed blade delivers full-tang confidence in a footprint that carries as easily as a folder. The 2.75" 3-layer composite sheepsfoot is flat ground with an acid washed finish, a blade shape with a strong protected tip that excels at heavy slicing, utility work and detail cuts. The 3-layer construction pairs a hard cutting core with tougher outer layers for a blade that holds an edge and shrugs off abuse. Contoured glow-in-the-dark canvas Micarta scales fill the hand naturally, eliminate hot spots and add a genuinely useful visual party trick after dark.

A cheaper way to own a JakebCreates

I had known about Jakeb's Chikadee for a while and had been tempted to get one. While not a fixed blade guy, there was something about that particular mdoem that called to me.

I was excited to see the collaboration and just had to try this out. I got the ITP clip from Adventure Carry for pocket carry. Had to drill a hole in the sheath for the ITP clip to fit but it works.

I was skeptical about a three-finger fixed blade but the handle is thick enoughthat I can get a comfortable grip and pinky can grab the factory supplied lanyard.

Knocking down a star because:
1. I wish they used a thinner stock for a three-finger pocket fixed.
2. Taco style sheath would occupy less psace in the pocket

Still a very nice knife and I'm sure many pocket fixed blade people will enjoy it.

Great little pack fixie

Solid design, 3 finger grip with heavily textured micarta, really easy to keep a hold of. The scales are thick enough to give a full grip, doesn't feel like the handle is too thin like some small fixed baldes. The GID scales work better than I expected, could still see them in the dark when I woke up and they had at most an hour's exposure to light before dark.
The blade is stocky enough to be trusted with tougher cuts, but slicey enough for most tasks. Nice stonewash finish on this one. Sheath retention is decent and adjustable, can clamp down on it for secure transport if needed. If you want a small fixed blade for a pack knife this an excellent choice.
