Following from Civivi's popular Button Lock Elementum is another Button Lock offering from Civivi - The Cogent.

Featuring the same fidgety fun button lock action, the Cogent also features a flipper tab allowing you to deploy your blade the way you like.

The blade is made out of Sandvik 14C28N steel which provides excellent edge retention, great corrosion resistance and hardness for a multitude of tasks. The cogent comes in a plain edge blade or half serrated blade options. We've picked out the Black G10 or Green Micarta scales for this drop which we think are the best looking options!

If you're after a smaller Button Lock from Civivi then look no further than the Civivi Altus, a slightly newer model than the Cogent.

Kogent button lock knife

I am very happy with my Cogent ,there was no button stick at all and it has a very fast action . It's overall a stylish and useful EDC .

Fidget Frenzy.

Civivi hit the mark with this one, style, action, use.
Myself and my misses already have the Elementum button lock, glad Civivi made the Cogent as it has more of a tactical edge about itself. The action is free falling the caged bearings are super smooth. The button itself on the one we purchased had a bit of stick, from what I have seen and heard this is not the only one with this problem. I stripped this one down gave it a clean and sanded back (400 grit) the sharp edge of the spring as it was this part that was catching on the inside of the micarta. All back together now and she works a dream. Im sure that over time the lock stick would of sorted its self out by making a small scratch mark on the inside of the micarta. T8 hardwear all round bar the pocket clip screws. The pocket clip works well even though the screws are not not counter sunk, can be right or left carry. The damascus blade looks great with the dark green handle. The micarta feels grippy even when wet, you can see the linen in the micarta its that well done. The shape of the blade has a very fine tip and a small amount of belly, the jimping is a little spaced out for me. A small amount of blade to sharpen as it ends at the plunge grind.
Over all this knife is my EDC but I find myself with it in my PJs flipping it in bed at night.
In my eyes its the best knife Civivi has made and for the cost I would say to ALL, BUY ONE!!!!
The next knife we will grab from AC will be the Civivi Altus wood handle, man she looks a sexy gal.
Just want to say thanks to Mitch, Dawn and ALL the other people over in NSW that make AC work, your service goes above and beyond!!
All the best from the West.

This is fast becoming my favourite out of my collection. Find my self playing around with the button lock without realizing it half the time. It's a bit larger than my previous knives as I tended to stick with the slimmer and more symmetrical designs but this one stood out as something I had to get my hands on and I was definitely not disappointed. It has a bit more heft to it which I found myself liking a lot. Another great one from Civivi, looking forward to what they have in the pipeline.

Love the service Mitch, already looking for some more things to purchase from you as soon as I can!

Great review Stuart! Thanks for the positive feedback.

This is a terrific knife. Has its own feel, action and weight. The button lock is awesome after an afternoon of deployment. Something you need in your collection. Mitch was excellent once again

Definitely a fidget friendly knife Marc. Thank you for leaving your review!
