Description

The Sonoma V2 has been in the works for quite some time. The original Sonoma frame-lock was designed as an urban utility folder in flat titanium. For V2, we designed an outdoor working liner-lock with rounded canvas Micarta or G10 scales. As with the original Sonoma, the Sonoma V2 is manufactured by Reate Knives.

With its slim profile and comfortable ergos, the Sonoma V2 is bound to become a favorite "go-to" folder for outdoor adventurers. Perfect for day-hikes or week-long backpacking trips, the Sonoma V2 packs light but will perform heavy cutting tasks along the way.

Our decision on the name for this folder is a nod to Sonoma County which lies just north of GiantMouse’s original headquarters in Marin County, California. Sonoma is known for its scenic beauty - rolling hills and valleys, acres upon acres of vineyards, and over 250 wineries. The alluring landscape, along with no end to amazing food and wine, makes Sonoma an ideal place for the GiantMouse Team to get our creative juices flowing.

Awesome knife

This knife is such an awesome design, whether your daily carry or a gents folder, maybe even a cutlery knife, this knife will suit your needs.

The weight of this knife is well balanced being slightly handle biassed. It's a good weight and feels sturdy with full metal spacers but an open back to make it lighter and that makes it good for working in a dirty environment. I love the curves and look of this knife, it hugs my hand really nicely and I never slip when opening or closing the knife thanks to the micarta or textured G10 handle scales, the handle scales feel grippy but not rough and are contoured to make it comfortable to hold in many ways. The action is stiff from the factory but working the knife loosened it up, which is much better than being loose or sloppy and I think will wear well after a few years of use. I love the elmax steel, it stays sharp for a long time and sharpens easily, the blade is quite short but is nice and thick with a full height grind, the tip is really fine so not a heavy duty use but for cutting stitching or digging out a splinter it's great. The pocket clip is too tight from the factory and maybe my only gripe with this knife, but because it's a wire clip I can easily bend it to loosen it off, I have no issues with it slipping out and it sits comfortably in my pocket thanks to its thin profile.

I highly recommend this knife, I own two and use them both everyday.
