Mother's Day is only two weeks away. Hopefully you've got the restaurant booked and the flowers sorted. But if you're still hunting for a gift, we've got you covered. You might not immediately think of Adventure Carry when it comes to gifting the mums and wives in your life, but think again. We asked our resident female in the building, Dawn, to pick out her top gear picks across a range of budgets. Here's her list of practical gear that's suitable for your wives/mums in ascending budget. Shop the Mother's Day EDC Collection here.Â
Take it away Dawn:
Pokka Pen - From $8
I carry a Pokka Pen everywhere and I've gifted one to my own Mum. She keeps it in her little purse and it has come in so handy more times than I can count. Just last month it saved us at the pub when we needed to enter a raffle. It extends to a full-size pen but packs down small enough to disappear into any handbag. Made in the USA is always a nice bonus.
I'd suggest tacking on a Pokka Klip or Pokka Dokk for keychain carry, and grabbing a set of ink refills while you're at it. We stock our own Adventure Carry branded versions, a subtle reminder to Mum (or the wife) where the good gear comes from. Perfect for any woman who likes to be prepared.
Field Notes - From $22
I carry one of these in my handbag too. There's something about writing things down on paper that just works: shopping lists, to-dos, or even journalling if that's her thing. Field Notes comes in lined, grid, dot-graph or blank options, which is great for anyone who likes to sketch or draw. Pick up a Tin-O-Darts while you're at it so she can bookmark important pages.

If your Mum is more of an outdoors type, go for the Expedition version. Water-resistant pages and tear-proof. Hard to beat.

Knafs Lander 6 Mini Keychain Knife - $26
Okay, hear me out. This thing is so darn cute. Only 5cm folded and 11g, a proper working mini locking folder that slips onto a keychain without a second thought. If she loves mini things, this will absolutely delight her, and it won't break the bank. Available in different colours too.

Knafs Sancho Pry Bar - $33 / Big Idea Design Mini Titanium Pry Bar - $39
Another mini item and honestly more useful than people expect. Look, some of us have nails we'd rather not destroy. Manicures are expensive. A pry bar means never having to sacrifice a nail whilst unboxing her parcels, pop open a tin, or scraping something stubborn off a surface. I've used mine constantly. Highly recommend.

RovyVon A5 G4 Keychain Flashlight - $60
This one lives on my keys (only 6cm in length) and I genuinely love it. All of my friends who've seen it have immediately asked where to get one - handy that I know a great shop that stocks them ;) . It's tiny but seriously bright, USB rechargeable (lasts up to 66h on low mode), and it has sidelights in either White+UV (surprisingly handy for spotting fake notes) or White+red - perfect for signalling. And, it even glows in the dark when the sidelights have been used.Â
The SST-20 6500K has a whiter beam while the Nichia 219C has a warmer tone. Unless she's a flashlight geek, either LED will suffice. I've had a friend pick one up specifically for her evening dog walks now that the sun is setting earlier. Practical, compact, and one of those things she'll use all the time without even thinking about it.
Ti-Tape Mini Tape Measure - From $76
Yet another super cute mini item made in USA (bonus points!). I'm forever pestering Mitch for his big bulky tape, and this solves that problem in the most stylish way possible. If she sews, crafts, or just always finds herself needing a tape measure, this is the one. Perfect for Ikea trips too. Titanium build, tiny footprint. It doesn't get better.

Civivi Purr - $82
For the cat-loving mum, this is a no-brainer. The Purr is designed by Ostap Hel, and it's clever: the screws and handle shapes form the cat's ears and eyes. Available in 4 different colours, the Purr drops on Wed 29th, so if you order immediately it'll land in time for Mother's Day. Bonus: this might just be the gateway gift that gets your partner curious about EDC. You're welcome.

Tactile Turn Slim Click Pen - $190
If you want to really go all out, a Tactile Turn Slim pen is the move. I own one personally and it's genuinely something special. Full titanium construction, made entirely in the USA, and available in bolt action, side click, or switch. Available in various lengths, I'd recommend either the mini (112mm) or short (135mm) lengths. The look & feel in person is elegant & refined. Great for the corporate woman in your life, and there's a satisfying fidget factor that makes it hard to put down. A gift she'll keep forever.

There you have it, gift ideas from a woman who carries this stuff daily. Whether you're working with an $8 budget or ready to splash out on something special, there's something here for your mum, wife, or woman in your life who loves practical gifts. Shop the full range at Adventure Carry and get your order in before it's too late.
